Yah Finally

Just finished coding yet another function but then this time I took 1 whole hour to do that. A very complex recursive function that deals with list.
I Miss SP

I really miss sitting down in a lab attending a total technical based lecture. I hate theory to the core.

Class in Singapore Polytechnic

Had a fulfilling 4 hours .Net class in SP this afternoon. I got to know about this free class organised by my ex-lecturer, My Ronnie Peh, from my junior Poly friends. Could not believe that those girls and Ronnie do keep in touch even though my friends had graduated. Learnt one of the most important technologies today :)
I'm back again

Hi I am back again (approx 30 minutes from my last post). This is the amount of time I used to code a function - a recursive one. The whole damn code is half a page but then it really requires lots of thinking. But the whole process is shorter than expected so I am quite proud of myself. The function is just a small part of my assignment.

Great Day

Just reached home from dinner with my friends. They are IT experts whom I get to know from a forum. This is our 3rd dinner together and everytime we dine at Geylang. Why? Maybe because they work near there. Both are web programmers.

Why I say they are great people? Both have got low qualifications but that does not stop them from being web programmers with capabilities in par with degree holders. Sad to know that one of them is sick of IT and is already having thoughts of quiting and setting up his own business selling bubble tea. IT is always changing... sigh...

Tired of Sobig Emails

I see it, I delete it. I see them, I delete them. It's usually them :(
So let's help one another by "cleaning" our PC.

My PC is Clean

A friend of mine told me that he received many emails from me bearing subjects like "Re: Thank You", etc. Just run W32.Sobig.F@mm removal tool and has confirmed that the worm does not exist in my PC. If anyone still receives W32.Sobig.F@mm emails from me, do inform me.

SP Lousy

It appears that many of my friends who are NP and NYP graduates had learnt Discrete Mathematics but as for me, I don't even know what the fuck is that! Guess I will have big trouble next semester.

Mentally Retarded

I think I am so. I feel my reasoning abilities have failed me.
I HATE Maths

I used to love maths and that was my pet subject. At least for now, I HATE Maths. My Uni Calculus lecturer always assumes everyone is 'A' Level grad and gives his lectures in bullet train speed. How on earth can a poly grad able to catch up? Theories theories and more theories... they are making me sick.

Sad Sad Sad

Heavy workload = less time on the net = ranking in EE drop!
Overall, this year, this month, ...
Sigh...

Bought another book again

"Operating Systems" recommended by Hugh Anderson (my lecturer). FYI, that book is written by Hugh Anderson himself. He's great.
First Lecture

Lecturer is humourous. He used the below as an example on a contradictory logic

All birds can fly
Ostrich is a bird
Therefore, all ostriches can fly.

To further make things clearer, he said "Human birds can't fly"!

That's not all. In the course of the lecture, he mentioned that "All mathematicians are absent-minded". He really live up to it. His handphone rang in the middle of the lecture after break time. He even jokingly asked around whose handphone was that without realizing that was actually his. Only after it rang for quite some time before he picked up his phone to reject the call. This was what he said, "Please do not report me".

Surprisingly, Chee Wee, Yongping and Koh Thiam Seng are my lecture mates.

First Lecture Tomorrow

Hope "Living with Mathematics" will not be tough. It will be my first and only lecture for the day. Sigh.. got to travel all the way to NUS for a 2 hours lecture.

Unexpected Call

Received an unexpected call from someone who used to be quite close to me. We talked about what will I be doing next week, how was life, etc. That friend also offerred to give me textbooks because his/her elder sister was a NUS Computing grad. But I rejected because syllabus has changed and those old textbooks were no longer in use.
Bought a book

Bought a Java book today.
Happy National Day!!!

Arnold Schwartzenegger

I cannot imagine what will happen if Arnold (longest name in the ballot) wins the ring for Governor of California. I will never support someone with zero experience but then I have got no say for I am no Californian.

Unix Workshop

Had my Unix workshop today. Everything goes very well and the workshop is quite enjoying. Unix is one of my favourite OS mainly because of its chat feature. I remember using it to chat during my poly days... Got to know a Dane "ang moh" in the lab. He kept asking me questions relating to Unix after he knew I was a poly grad. Overall he is a nice guy.
Saw some familiar people

I saw Chee Wee and a pioneer sergeant today.
Finally Got My Modules

Finally, I managed to secure all the modules I wanted. However, timetable sucks having lectures everyday from Mon to Sat. I even have got 2 sets of 2 exams on the same day.

Irritating Calls/Emails/Voice Mails

Lots of irritating calls/emails/voice mails from NUS clubs that I reluctantly signed up on matriculation day. All request for reply but of course I did not. I'm just too busy to think of signing up for any ECA.

First Day Orientation Week

My orientation group seniors comprises of 1 orientation group leader who is a Singaporean, 1 Singaporean assistant, 1 Filipino assistant and 1 Burmese assistant. 3 Singaporean Chinese (all guys incl. me), 2 Malaysian Chinese (gals), 1 Indian from India (guy), and 3 Chinese from China (guys) make up the freshmen team. This makes me feel like I am the foreigner instead of them.
If you are a KaZaa User

I hope you are not in the list.

As Expected

As expected, number of bidders has exceeded the quota for each class. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Smell Failure

I smells failure in bidding. The number of bidders is near to the quota set and if it exceeds then results will be based on first-come-first-serve basic and the bid value. Highest bid set is 4 times higher than what I have bid. Got to double it to play safe.
Module Bidding

Placed my first bid today. Encountered first problem and that is I unable to bid for a maths module. Checked out its pre-requisite and it says 'A' Level Mathematics. I end up having to take another extra maths module as a "bridging" module but then strangely, bidding for the bridging module failed. I guess I got to exercise clicking of the "Appeal" button.

Hope everything will go smooth when results is out tomorrow.
