Goodbye to Google Wave; Service to be Discontinued by End of the Year

Google announced on its blog that Google Wave, the innovative communication platform released last year, will be discontinued by end of this year.

Wave has not seen the user adoption we would have liked. We don’t plan to continue developing Wave as a standalone product, but we will maintain the site at least through the end of the year and extend the technology for use in other Google projects.

Refer to http://hongjun.blogspot.com/search/label/Wave to know more of Google Wave.

Hackers Exploit Google Wave's Popularity

Hackers are exploiting web users that were too late in signing up for Google Wave, says Symantec. Google Wave is currently open for invitations only, which means you will only be eligible as a member upon receiving an invitation from Google itself.

Google Wave - Model for Communication and Collaboration on the Web

Google new ambitious project Google Wave, is set to rework email, instant messaging, document sharing, and blogging. It will be available by end of 2009.

Google defines wave as the following:

A wave is equal parts conversation and document. People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

A wave is shared. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when.

A wave is live. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time.
