Mark V. Hurd, the former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard, is name the new Oracle’s new co-president. Hurd is now the number two after Lawrence J. Ellison, Oracle’s chief executive and largest shareholder.
Mr Hurd resigned from H.P. one month ago, after involvement in a personal relationship scandal with a contractor turned up questionable expenses. However, a post-investigation saw no proof. Under Hurd's leadership, H.P. had grown by leaps and bounds. Mr. Ellison, a personal friend of Mr. Hurd, criticized H.P.’s board last month saying it was “the worst personnel decision since the idiots on the Apple board fired Steve Jobs many years ago”.
