In view of the current higher rate of inflation, companies with stronger financial abilities should play their part in helping staff cope with higher living expenses. The financial help can be in a one-off lump sum manner and with that, together with what have been provided by the goverment such as the GST Offsets and Growth Dividends, and the NTUC, such as the "U" Stretch vouchers and book grants, I hope this will help mitigate the impact of inflation on staff.
My company has taken similar step to help their staff cope with inflation on top of the usual annual increment exercise. I hope more companies will do likewise if possible.
