A Wal-Mart was trampled to death on Black Friday (28 Nov). Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States, where it is the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season. Usually, retailer will slash prices on the traditional Black Friday.
Times must have been very bad with retailers reporting poor sales for the past few months. Black Friday discounts are attractive and people look quite desperate to get bargains. We do not see many tramples in the States. This one is really unfortunate.
Nowadays, there are just far too many gloomy news - Global financial turmoil, Bangkok political clash, Mumbai terrorism, and so on.
