BODMAS and PEMDAS

In Mathematics, the sequence and order of operations given a problem sum full of different operators is important.

BODMAS or PEMAS can help us in remembering the right way of doing things.

BODMAS = Brackets Order Division Multiplication Addition Subtraction

PEMDAS = Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally

Applying BODMAS or PEMAS, we know we have to evaluate a Mathematical expression in the following sequence - in order of decreasing precedence:

BODMAS; PEMAS

1. Brackets; Parenthesis
2. Order; Exponents
3. Division / Multiplication; Multiplication / Division
4. Addition / Subtraction; Addition / Subtraction
