Hong Kong passes minimum wage law

Hong Kong passds minimum wage law and this will take effect in the first half of 2011 despite several businesses voicing concerns over operation cost. However, with the best interests of citizens, the minimum wage law was passed.

Michael Chan, chairman of fast-food giant Cafe de Coral(大家乐)-- who was ranked by Forbes magazine as the 35th richest man in Hong Kong in 2009
his company might issue a profit warning if the hourly rate proposed by the unions became law.
