According to numerous reports, holding the new Apple's iPhone 4 phone's new external antenna band has the tendency to completely block reception. This seems to be a major design flaw. Though Apple's chief Steve Jobs had admitted this problem, he suggested to avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band.
