Chile quake moved Earth's axis, shortened days by 1.26 microseconds

A NASA scientist calculated that the recent powerful 8.8 magnitude earthquake that shook Chile last Saturday probably shifted the Earth's axis by eight centimetres (three inches) and thus made shortened Earth days by 1.26 microseconds.
